Epiphany

A little poetry to pass the time

Today is moving in slow motion, very calm and serene. I’m not complaining. So how about a little poetry to go along with the mood. This is an oldie I wrote over 10 years ago…

Epiphany

Clouds accumulated above our heads today.
They were unnatural, swirling into each other like a painting in motion.
The lighter tones were skewed, the feeling unreal.

We stared as the sky dimmed and everything seemed to be one for the moment.
Eventually no individual cloud could be seen, and all at once, rain fell.
Each drop was its own as it ventured down, the first striking my face without warning.
It was refreshing and unexpected, it was welcomed.

We stared down at the ground and all the water seemed to be one for the moment.
Eventually no individual drop could be seen, and the sun escaped the darkness that shackled it.
Each ray struck its own spot on the world around us, a few coloring my skin with heavenly glow.
It was moving and loving.

Eventually everything had been touched with heat, and everybody escaped to shade.
Each person parted from each other, a few offering kisses before they withdrew.
They were grateful and content, just as I am.

Clouds accumulated above our heads today,
They swirled into each other like a painting in motion.
And It was then that I realized, nothing is alone.
